Herald Birchfield a laundry veteran just shy of 50 years in the industry has decided to retire.

Herald started selling washers and dryers in the ’70s. He and his wife Nancy ran the Maytag commercial laundry division of Ahrens and McCarren in St. Louis until joining Vend-Rite in 1999. “I sold Vend-Rite’s soap venders to my customers for years so when Vend-Rite had an opening, I took it”, Birchfield said, adding, “I have really enjoyed being able to work with the distributors and the store owners”.

Because of his passion for the industry, this has been a difficult decision, but at 76 he has decided to slow down and spend more time with Nancy and family.

“I’ve enjoyed all the relationships I have in this industry and will miss seeing all my friends on the road during show season, but it’s time”.

Herald and Nancy reside in Lakeland, Florida.

Jennie Ramirez, our long time receptionist and service specialist has decided to leave Vend-Rite to become her 92 year old aunts caregiver. She is making arrangements to move her aunt into her home and provide for her.

Jennie is also planning on enrolling in massage therapy school with the goal of becoming a certified massage therapist.

We wish Jennie all the best and will miss her welcoming voice and friendly personality.

The Clean Show will be held June 20-23 in New Orleans this year.
